This secluded Georgian country house stands in 6 acres of lovely gardens and woodlands.
The hotel is owned and run by Edward & Ann Nicoll & offers high standards of comfort and service. The hotel has a relaxed and informal atmosphere like that of a private house. The house retains much of its historic charm, atmosphere & decorative detail with well proportioned rooms.
An open fire burning in the hearth, and 24 hr full central heating add to the warm welcome at Dunain Park. 11 bedrooms include 6 large suites each with their own separate lounge. Four Poster & Half tester, double & twin bedrooms all beautifully furnished. All 11 bedrooms have bathrooms with bath & shower and are tiled in marble specially imported from Italy.
The coach house, which stands in the gardens, has been converted into two cottages, each with two bedrooms, lounge and a bathroom (bath & shower). They are more simply furnished but offer a high standard of comfort, the cottages are fully serviced. Guests come to the hotel for meals or just to relax by the open fire in the lounge.
Ann and Edward Nicoll have won a high reputation and several awards for their hotel & restaurant. On arrival guests are offered tea or coffee with home baking. Dinner at Dunain Park is something to look forward to...after a day out golfing, walking or just visiting the many local attractions.
Ann is a member of the Master Chefs of Great Britain and goes to great length to source top quality local produce. The hotel has its own kitchen garden and grows soft fruits, lettuce, herbs and vegetables in season. Ann's daughter Nicola makes all the chutneys & jams as well as the puddings, home-baking and petit fours. The a la carte menu is Scottish with a French influence and offers a choice of dishes which include a vegetarian option. Local lamb, venison & game. Beef comes from accredited Aberdeen Angus Scottish herds.
Guests can order a refreshment in the lounge before dinner or just relax in the comfortable surroundings by the real fire before being asked to the dining room. The dining room is non-smoking and gentleman are not required to wear jacket & tie for dinner.
