Out of the way coastal village beyond Ullapool with staggering sunset views and a wonderful coastline to experience.

Achiltibuie is how I think a town in the Falklands or New Zealand's South Island might look like strung out over several miles and with no discernable centre to it.

It may be very exciting as an example of town planning, but it you wanted to site a village with startling views across the blissfully named Summer Isles to look even as far as Skye on a good day, then this is absolutely the place.

Achiltibuie is also located in one of Scotland's most beautiful areas with coast line and a number of mountains to walk that are ideal for anyone who loves walking but does not want to climb. This is the place for wonderful outdoor days and then sunsets and maybe close with a dram at the Summer Isle Hotel.
