Small village on the road North. Starting point for an ascent of Ben More or a quick stop to see the lonely Ardvreck Castle.

A few things should cause you to stop here. The interesting walk that takes you to the "Bone Caves" where a range of ancient skeletons have been found is a good walk for the whole family. Start from the Allt nan Uamh car park, about four kilometres south of Inchnadamph and follow the path. The whole walk is about 2 hours in all.

Castles Nearby

Ardvreck Castle

Ruined castle that stands on its own promontory overlooking Loch Assynt. Not as old as you might expect but with its wonderful position such a romantic castle...

Ben More Assynt

The two highest mountains in the wild country of Assynt in the North East. Fantastic views and an interesting and ankle aching walk to the summits.

Eating Out

The only place is the hotel which has a variable reputation for food and the warmth of the welcome. You can get a beer here, but do call ahead as they will refuse you a room if they can get away with it.
