Ultimate Limits Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding on Loch Tay

Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding in Scotland

One of the next generation of board sports, wakeboarding is equivalent to snowboarding on water. Keeping your head above water is your main objective as you are pulled along at between 18 and 23 mph behind a boat or being pulled by cable!

Wakeboards look like inverted snowboards. Instead of the board having a convex shape to it like a snowboard, it has a concave shape to it and instead of being shaped in a bridge like curve, a wakeboard is curved upwards like a rocking horse.

How to get started?

Water skiing and wakeboarding are both run by water sports centres, usually situated on the edge of lochs in Scotland where the water is calm(ish), all equipment is provided. Price varies: £20 for 15-20 mins

Where to wakeboard?

A lot of Scotland's centrally located fresh water lochs have water sports centres on them, where you can wakeboard. The best two we know are in Dunfermline at Water Ski Scotland [1]and Wild Diamonds on Tiree [2]. There is also a new centre at Loch Tay with Ultimate Limits

Restaurants

It’s always a good idea to have food before you start drinking, you’ll last much longer. The other reason for having a meal first, especially if you’re on a stag or hen night is because it gives time for everyone to get to know each other.

Some types are restaurants are better for big groups than others, we would suggest a Tapas Meal or Chinese Restaurant. Both tend to have enough variety on the menu to keep everyone happy.

We have teamed up with some great restaurants in Edinburgh and Glasgow which all centrally located so you don’t have to walk to far in the evening.

If you want to check some restaurant reviews, see our Edinburgh restaurant review guide.

We can also arrange after you’re meal queue jumping into some of the top nightclubs in the city. We can even arrange for a Fire Engine to come and pick you and take you there. We can also offer the Party Bus with a meal included.

Party Bus in Scotland

Party Bus in Scotland

Party Bus

A Party Bus is a great solution if you don’t want to worry about the night. It’s perfect for large groups like stag and hen parties or for a Christmas office nights out. Depending on the city and the company will depend on which bars or clubs you’ll go to.

Some of the buses have the top floor converted with sofa and disco lights and music so you can party on the move. The real benefit of the bus is you don’t have to try and manage a large group of people; there is nothing worse than all of you standing on a street trying to decide where you are going to go next.

Depending on which deal you decide, food, a free drink in each bar and nightclub entry are all included in the price. If you decide you want the meal deal then you need to be at the restaurant for 6pm otherwise you will generally meet the bus at 7:30pm.

Experienced host and hostesses will look after your party, making sure that no one gets lost or left behind. They will also make sure your party is having a great time. If you want to organise a stripper we can arrange a private show on the bus for your group.

Football colours, jeans and trainers are not allowed on the bus this will stop any aggro when you try to get into the bars.

Our favourite company is Club Class Bus that offer party bus services in Edinburgh and Glasgow. There is also partybus.co.uk but we have found that because their buses are simply hired school buses, they are nothing like as good.

Nightclubs

Nightclubs

Nightclubs across Scotland can vary, Glasgow has more to choose from while Edinburgh has a Student influence. There all types of clubs playing different types of music the last thing you want on you party night is hardcore off your head music.

We try and use nightclubs that we know you’re going to have a good time, that play good music and don’t allow the local idiots in.

Many clubs will try and discourage or not allow stag groups in so the key to getting in is not to give the Doorman and Doorlady an excuse not to allow you in. Fancy dress is great fun but that good stop you getting in as well don’t wear football colours or trainers.

Perth, Dundee and Aberdeen also have night clubs although they don’t have the variety of the bigger cities it still means you can have a great night out.

Another option to take the hassle out of the evening is to choose the Party Bus
