What is River Bugging?

River Bugging is a unique way of heading down white water, it’s a bit like an extreme version of a Lilo but instead chilling out on the sea you’re heading down drops past rocks in fast flowing water. You steer the bugs using you’re hands and feet, you’ll have flippers on you’re feet and webbed cloves on you’re hands.

What Do I need?

All the equipment is provided including a wetsuit, helmet and life jacket. You will have several experienced guides with you to make sure you have a fun and safe trip.

Where Can I Do River Bugging?

There are not many places in Scotland where you can do bugging. The companies we use are based in the Highlands in Perthshire. The rivers used tend to be the river Tay and the River Tummel.

Anything Else

We would recommend bugging in the warmer months as you spend quite a bit of time in the water. The cost per person varies from £35 to £45. Driving, it will take about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow, 30 minutes from Perth and about 50 minutes from Dundee.

You could also do Canyoning, White Water Rafting or Quad Biking for a full day of fun.
