There is of course no white water rafting in Edinburgh itself or on the surrounding hills like the Pentlands or Lammermuirs, tho it sometimes seems as though there is enough water.
The closest and the best rafting in proximity from Edinburgh is in the Highlands near Aberfeldy or Piltochry.
Travelling from Edinburgh to Rafting Sites
You can drive up the A9 to the rivers which should take about 80 minutes or so depending on traffic and roadworks.
There are trains running from Edinburgh Waverley to Dunkeld and Pitlochry.
Alternatively you can take the Megabus to Pitlochry.
How many raft from Edinburgh
Is this a one off crazy idea? Nope we have tons of people travelling up every weekend to raft either as part of stag & hen parties or as families or groups of friends.
