Sutherland is one of Scotland's most treasured secrets. The north west of Scotland features impressive hills surrounding lochs and rivers, spectacular sandy beaches, the most beautiful sunsets, cascading waterfalls, rare birdlife and breathtaking walks.

The Kinlochbervie Hotel is located on the tip of the north west coastline of Scotland overlooking the majestic waves breaking on the rock outcrops. It is the perfect place to stay to explore this wonderful part of Scotland, you can even watch the fishermen bringing in your evening meal!

We take a special pride in the standard of our cuisine and this has resulted in our Taste of Scotland award. The fish and seafood we serve is so fresh, you can watch the fisherman unload it at the nearby harbour. The hill lamb and venison has an unrivalled flavour and succulence only to be found in this part of Scotland and we can also offer an excellent selection of fine wines from our expertly managed wine cellar.

The west coast of Scotland is famous for its magnificent beaches and shimmering white sands. Oldshoremore, Polin and Sheigra are just three examples of our local beaches which are very accessible and easy to find. Spend time exploring to find your own private sandy enclave.

Between Laide and Balnakiel lie innumerable sandy beaches and rocky coves. A large and lovely beach at Balnakiel continues to uncover evidence of this area1s Norse invaders - a Viking skeleton was recently found here. Balnakiel offers a craft village and also the house of Lord Reay. Another lovely beach can be found at Sango sands.
