The tour

Departing Edinburgh this tour first travels west through the old industrial heartland of Scotland to Glasgow, Scotland's largest city and industrial capital of the old British Empire. During it's all too brief excursion through the city centre you'll see the heart of this dynamic modern city and learn about its rise to greatness within Britain. Look out for key landmarks such as the Cathedral, the University, and the Fairfield Crane as you pass.
Continuing on the tour passes over the Firth of Clyde close by the ancient capital of of Strathclyde, Dumbarton, with its rocky fortress and on to bonnie Loch Lomond, Britain's largest expanse of fresh water.

Your time here can be spent on a cruise around the southern parts of the loch or you can walk along it shores at the beautiful conservation village of Luss with its viking grave.
Leaving Loch Lomond we travel to our lunch stop in the village of Aberfoyle, gateway to the Trossachs. After lunch the tour enters the Trossachs, foothills of the Highlands, driving by hills and lochs that were once the haunt of Rob Roy Macgregor, one of Scotland's most famous Highlanders.

The final stop of the day is at the mighty Stirling Castle, Scotland's most strategically important fortress, Royal home of the Stewart Dynasty. You'll have time to visit the castle and hear of the exploits of key historical figures such as William Wallace, Robert the Bruce - King of Scots, King James V, Mary Queen of Scots, and Bonnie Prince Charlie.
