An ideal spot for a truly 'get-away-from-it-all holiday'. This is a detached stone-built cottage, formerly a small shooting lodge, in a very remote setting amongst the hills approx 1.5 miles up a track from the neighbouring farm.
The property is well maintained, comfortably furnished and perfect for those interested in walking, painting and bird watching. Free bank fishing for 1 rod on a private loch and use of owners' tennis court by prior arrangement.
Pony trekking, golf and sailing are all readily available in the area. Nearest shops 6 miles at the pretty Artists' Town Kirkudbright with its art galleries, exhibitions, quirky shops and a variety of restaurants.
The cottage has 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, confortable sitting room with open fire. A wood panelled kitchen/diner with gas cooker and small gas fridge and wood burning stove, bathroom with shower over the bath and water heated by gas. A new solar powered lighting system has been installed but there is NO other electricity. Good mobile phone signal and a telephone for incoming and emergency calls. Private water supply.
