They are located in remote settings on the edge of the moors with delightful woodland walks and hillside trails up into forests or to the main estate which has the renowned Glenkiln Sculpture Walk - the world’s first collection of sculpture in a natural setting, with sculptures by Henry Moore, Jacob Epstein and Auguste Rodin. It is an area hugely popular with walkers and cyclists of all abilities, and the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes cycling trail is also close by. There are many sandy beaches and forest trails to explore and many lovely gardens nearby as well for those seeking a slower pace of recreation.

Customer Reviews of Lochenkit Farmhouse, Corsock, sleeps 8

st comment: Lovely house - just a few things that needed fixed. Hopefully they have been fixed now for the next people. Oct 2011.

nd comment: A very spacious and well equipped property set in a lovely location. Everything required was available in the house and it was fun mastering how to cook using the AGA stove (there is a separate conventional cooker as well though for the less adventurous). An ideal property for large families to stay - plenty of rooms available to allow adults and children to find their own space. Highly recommended. Oct 2011.

rd comment: A beautiful and spacious accommodation. Plenty of free wood for the fire. Lots of peace and quiet. Beautiful countryside close at hand. Warm and comfortable with a huge kitchen and Aga. Its easy to miss the last turning if you are arriving at night as its not obvious you are passing over a bridge, look out for the signpost to Lochenkit. Oct 2011.

th comment: Lochenkit Farmhouse is absolutely superb. The standard of accommodation, layout of the house, quality of fixtures and fittings is second to none. I would recommend this farmhouse to anyone who wants a fantastic place to stay. You do need a car as although only 8 miles out of Castle Douglas, the roads are long and windy. Fantastic place to enjoy the countryside. May 2011.

th comment: We found the accommodation exceeded our expectations. It was a magical holiday, made special by the weather i.e. lots of snow and sunshine to begin with, and assistance from the Shepherd, Brian and his wife Meg and their son Iain. Lots of fun sledging and lovely walks. Dec 2010.

th comment: Location wonderful. Oct 2010.

th comment: A spacious, period house, well furnished and appointed. A great kitchen/dining room, lovely bedrooms and an abundance of bathrooms! The morning and evening visits from several chickens delighted our grandchildren. Wide, open views to the hills. The "pink house" will definitely be a part of our family memories for ever. Sept 2010.

th comment: Lochenkit Farmhouse surpassed all of our expectations. It has clearly been modernized to a very high standard and has been beautifully decorated and furnished. It has the feel of a very homely grand house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nov 2009.

th comment: Property with real character, away from it all and just what we were looking for. May 2009.
