Customer Reviews of Silver Birch Lodge, Ratagan, sleeps 6

st comment: Fantastically equipped property in a beautiful location. March 2012.

nd comment: It was great to come off the hills and feel cosseted in such a beautifully appointed lovely warm and comfortable house. It is far enough off the beaten track to be very quiet and yet our friends used it as a base to visit Skye twice. We used it as a base to visit Glen Elg and walk up some of the less accessible Munros, such as Sgrithiall. We used the front porch as a drying area by turning on the radiator and shutting the door. We had plenty of room even with the house at full capacity. Aug 2011.

rd comment: The property is an excellent location and is well appointed. Despite very poor weather during the week, we found we were able to make the most of being in the area and thoroughly enjoyed our week. The brochs in Glenelg are a good option is the weather is unreliable and we had some delicious cakes in a Yurt opposite the second broch - well recommended. We will be going back to the property later this year. May 2011.

th comment: Superb location. Very spacious accommodation. Oct 2010.

th comment: Warm. Well appointed, clean & comfortable. Oct 2010.

th comment: Modern house with all amenities provided - very well equipped and like a home from home. Sept 2010.

th comment: Spacious, had 3 bathrooms, very comfortable, close to beautiful Loch Duich, otters in the loch. Aug 2010.

th comment: Clean, well fitted out, spacious accommodation with most fittings in good condition. May 2010.

th comment: A very clean, modern and comfortable property. Very well equipped. Nice to have 3 separate shower rooms. Cosy with only the slightest bit of heating needed. Comfortable beds with loads of wardrobe space. Only a very short walk to the lochside and fabulous views. If I was to pick fault it would be that the plumbing is a bit noisy. April 2010.

th comment: Warm and comfortable with everything you need. March 2010.

th Comment The owner was thoughtful in what was provided, i.e. simple things such as washing up liquid, bin bags, etc, this went beyond what was expected. Everything was to a high standard and it is somewhere we would readily, both recommend, and return to. Feb 2010.

th Comment Perfect area for walkers/kayaking/wildlife. Completely ’away from it all’ - you need to ensure you take supplies for your whole holiday (has excellent fridge freezer!) as nearest decent size shop is 1/5 hr away. (Take some nuts for the birds too!). Very well equipped and spacious. July 2009.

th Comment Beautifully laid out with plenty of personal touches. Just like you’d like your own home to be. June 2009.

th Comment Great standard of accommodation and in a lovely quiet location. May 2009.

th Comment We were very impressed by Silver Birch Lodge. It was decorated and furnished to a very high standard and we had everything we needed to make our stay at the cottage comfortable and enjoyable. When we had a problem with the TV at the start of our holiday the owner was very good at getting it sorted out for us quickly and without hassle. The location of the cottage was great for exploring the beautiful western highlands of Scotland and we wouldn’t hesitate to book the accommodation again. Our neighbours are even thinking about booking it for a holiday after our recommendation. March 2009.

th Comment Clean, tidy and well looked after. Aug 2009.

th Comment Warm and comfortable with excellent facilities and equipment. Feb 2009.

th Comment Wonderful position for keen walkers, wild life including otters, seals and golden eagles. Skye is also very accessible. Oct 2008.

th Comment The house we stayed in was of superb standard. All fittings beautiful and well chosen with a lavish provision of equipment. We liked the touch of a dog’s bed with his own bowl and towel. May 2008.

th Comment Excellent property - a couple of minutes walk from the loch which is a quiet, beautiful area with plenty of wildlife. May 2008.
