Customer Reviews of Udrigle House, Gairloch, Sleeps 6

st comment: Though from the property description we were expecting bed linen we had taken towels and tea towels, but there were ample supplied along with plenty of all of the standard kitchen cleaning products that you’d find at home. This was a pleasant and unexpected surprise that we feel is worth sharing with future guests. We found that the £10 electricity allowance was sufficient to get us through the week (even in November with dark nights and a chill in the air), we even enjoyed two or three hours in the sauna. There are no pictures of the sauna on the site, but to satisfy your curiosity it is quite small, but will comfortably house two adults any more that that would be a tight squeeze! There is a large walled garden with a family picnic bench overlooking the sea, with the mountains in the background. This is a great space for your dogs to run free in a safe environment. If you are looking for something to do, head out toward Gairloch (there’s a great beach) and a trip to the Fairy Loch and the plane crash site is well worth a visit, the start of the well signed walk/climb is only a few minutes outside of town. Nov 2011.

nd comment: We could see the house from across the bay, and the excitement grew as we got closer (after a 16hr drive!). What a place!! We immediately felt at home. The house was warm, clean, comfortable and just fantastic. Oct 2011.

rd comment: Our second visit to this property and again enjoyed greatly by all. A very welcoming owner, a lovely box of chocolates and a tea tray ready with milk in the fridge and chocolate biscuits, a welcome sight after a long drive. We would recommend this property to everyone. Sept 2011.

th comment: Its al beautiful and cosy old house. It is not the small white house on the photo, but the big one. There are a few other houses nearby. For the beach you have to climb over a fence. It has a beautiful view, only the front of the house has no window, because of the cold winds in the winter, so you have to be outside to enjoy the view. My daughter spotted a seal swimming under the colours of a rainbow. we made a lot of trips to Gairloch and Ullapool and there from on the boat. I really can recommend this. We saw whales, seals, dolphins and even an eagle. Deer, sheep and cows along the road. Aug 2011.

th comment: The couple who owned the house were very nice and helpful, yet unobtrusive. The garden was beautiful and the views absolutely stunning. My 5 year old grandson was particularly enchanted with the friendly pet sheep who lived nearby whom he fed with digestive biscuits, very kindly provided by the owners. July 2011.

th comment: The house is lovely and extremely well-equipped. Good dog walking nearby, although probably very boggy in wet weather. Magnificent scenery. Very peaceful. May 2011.

th comment: This was the best holiday accommodation that I have stayed in. Clean and loads of character. Everything you needed and more besides. Very friendly and helpful owners - a beautiful house in a beautiful area. We have booked already for 2 weeks next year for 2 weeks and we can’t wait. Sep 2010.
