Appalling battle just South of the border that laid waste the cream of Scotland's lords

The battlefield is restful now, but in September 1513 it was scene to a disaster for Scottish arms that changed the balance between England and Scotland for ever. The resulting slaughter left many of the lairds and lords of Scotland dead and the king captured. The lament Flowers of the Forest recalls the tragic day.
