Hillockhead Farmhouse

Hillockhead Farmhouse is a sandstone building more than 150 years old. It perches on a hill top overlooking the Moray Firth, the panoramic sea views are truly stunning. Many years ago it was home to the local school teacher who rode to the village school on her horse. 

Hillockhead Farm is situated on the Black Isle, between Rosemarkie and Cromarty. Inverness is a 30 minute drive away.

The Black Isle is renowned for its scenic beauty and mild dry climate where pretty villages and lovely beaches wait to be discovered. There is are several restaurants and pubs to choose from and an assortment of shops and museums.

This area of the Scottish Highlands is haven for wild life, birds, wild flowers and sea life, including Britain's largest school of wild dolphins which can even be seen from your holiday cottage.

These famous residents can be seen along the shore, or go to nearby Chanonry Point the best land based place in the world for dolphin watching. 

On the ground floor the farmhouse has a spacious dining room with large table seating up to 9.  The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and hob with oven.  As you come through the entrance there is a porch with washing machine and dryer.

Also on the ground floor is the living room with huge comfy sofas and a wood-burning stove. There is a large supply of books, dvd’s and games plus I Pod docker and a large TV with basic sky package.  The dining room also has a TV for the times when you can’t agree on what to watch!

Downstairs is also a double bedroom with ensuite walk in shower room.

Above this room is an attic room with spiral staircase, which sleeps 2 in twin beds (suitable for children over 7 or nimble footed adults!)

On the first floor are the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a family bedroom with a double bed and single bed. There is a bathroom on the landing shower and wc

All bedrooms have spectacular sea views.

The farmhouse backs onto a very large enclosed garden overlooking the sea, with seating area and hot tub. 

 There is also a summerhouse, perfect for those family BBQ’s or to enjoy a glass of wine in a peaceful hideaway.

Ideal for dogs with the large enclosed garden and many dog friendly walks nearby on the beach or in the woods.

Leisure activities include, dolphin and wild life boat trips, cycling on the bike trails right behind Hillockhead, )Bikes can be delivered), sailing, golf and walking and pony trekking.
Other acvities include a visit to the Black Isle wild life park, the local brewery or paint balling. Less than an hours drive are historic sites such as Fort George, Culloden Battlefield and Urquart Castle at Loch Ness
