Kilchrenan

Small village to the south of Taynuilt between Loch Etive and Loch Awe in a hidden part of Argyll.


Most people continue west from taynuilt on their way to Oban, but the more canny turn south to the small settlements of Kilchrenan and Ardanaisaig which are also home to some wonderful hotels (see below).

Kilchrenan is a only small peaceful West Highland Village situated amongst some magnificent scenery, and is approximately half a mile from the north westerly shores of Loch Awe. The area is dominated by Ben Cruachan (3700ft) and its neighbouring peaks with the softer, gentler and partially wooded slopes surrounding Loch Awe providing some contrast.

There is virtually unlimited walking and climbing in the area to suit all skills, opportunity for fresh water and sea angling, bird watching.

Further north is Taynuilt and to the East is the quite village of Ardanaisaig.
