Within the incredibly beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park there are many lochside, lowland and hill walks just a short distance including a munro. Sports include golf, sailing, windsurfing, cycling and horse riding, and cruises around the loch and its many islands are available.
The top of Duncryne Hill is only 20 minutes walk through the woods and field, and provides one of the best 360-degree views in Scotland and a spectacular panorama of Loch Lomond. A nature conservancy area is within walking distance where a large variety of wildlife may be seen including deer, ducks, geese, herons, raptors and swans. Local visits include distilleries and an aquarium. The numerous attractions in Glasgow and Stirling are within 40 minutes driving or the former can be easily reached by train from Balloch, 3 miles away. Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are close to hand. Shop 1/2 mile.
