Set on a working farm, within the owner’s 2000-acre estate in the Vale of Strathmore, these two welcoming and spacious holiday properties have been renovated to a high standard. Set 4 miles apart amongst beautiful farmland and fruit-growing country, they make an excellent choice for relaxing breaks in the heart of rural Perthshire. The location epitomises country life with an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels and herds of deer, with nesting ospreys nearby. Excellent walking from the doorstep and in the beautiful nearby Angus Glens. The estate makes an ideal base for exploring central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth, St. Andrews and the Highlands. Glamis Castle is a few miles away. Outdoor activities (golf, skiing, riding, cycling) are readily available. Shops 1½-3 miles.

Well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and French door to patio. Utility. 1st comment: Interior surprisingly spacious. Superb views over the fields and beyond. Sofas in the lounge in need of re-upholstering. Log burning stove was toasty. Feb 2012.

2nd comment: Excellent accommodation with all mod cons and extremely clean. Situated in a peaceful setting with great views and centrally placed for the many tourist attractions nearby. Local store is in Meigle, a 5 minute drive. June 2011.

5th comment: Osprey Cottage is a wonderful escape from normal life styles it is homely and welcoming and Katy’s welcome tray of fresh Scottish Strawberries, a bottle of wine and the local newspaper is a lovely touch. The cottage has everything anyone could need my only complaint is that at the end of the holiday we had to leave, without a doubt we will be back again and again. July 2010.
