This modern detached villa is set in a spectacular beachside location in Maidens village, with uninterrupted views over the harbour and towards the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran. Maidens is a small village situated around the shores of Maidenhead Bay on the picturesque Clyde coast, and the village offers a range of amenities including a shop, post office, very popular restaurant, hotel and harbour.
This corner of South West Ayrshire is renowned for its unspoilt scenery and particularly mild climate throughout the year. The area is the perfect holiday spot for the outdoor enthusiast. There are excellent golf courses: the world famous Turnberry is only a mile from Maidens and there are also 18-hole golf courses nearby. There are the usual field sports, excellent rivers for fishing and superb routes for walking.
Ayrshire offers a varying coastline with villages, beaches and rocky coves to explore. Inland there is walking, gardens and castles to visit, riding, racing and a choice of golf courses. Culzean Castle (owned by the National Trust for Scotland) is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction. Remodelled by the Scottish architrct Robert Adam, it houses a small exhibition displaying President Eisenhower’s military civilian and military career and his association with Culzean. The surrounding country park (extending over 550 acres) has a network of wooded trails passing along the beach. Craft shows, country dancing and walks spotting fungi are attractions hosted during the year. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Stranraer, whilst a drive north leads to Ayr (14 miles), a traditional seaside town. Glasgow/Prestwick airport is 20 miles. Shop 300 yards, pubs 100 yards.

Customer Reviews of Harbour View Luxury House, Maidens, sleeps 8

1st comment: Luxurious finish to the property - local shop well stocked for forgotten items - local restaurant a must (best to book). Jan 2012.

2nd comment: A beautiful property, well equipped, modern and comfortable, great for a large family or relaxing with friends. Ideal for kids, cupboard full of books and toys, enclosed garden with 2 tree swings, small play park across road as well as harbour and sandy beach 5 mins walk away. Culzean Castle 15 min walk along the beach. (beware if bringing toddlers as no stair gate, staircase accessible from open plan living room). Dec 2011.

3rd comment: Very clean and comfortable house. A home from home. Will be booking for next year. Just a stones through away from Wildings Restaurant which offers excellent value for money especially at lunchtime. This property was a great find and I am sure we will be using it year after year. Nov 2011.

4th comment: Excellent accommodation in a lovely spot close to harbour & beach. Not a lot to do in village & not a lot of amenities, god local shop & restaurant but no pub, you can only drink in the restaurant if you are eating, so nothing to do on an evening. Sept 2011.

5th comment: An absolutely beautiful house! Location very good, handy for the local restaurant. Village very quiet and peaceful. Good general store for basic items. July 2011.

6th comment: Maidens is a lovely and very quiet place. Only one shop, no pub in the village and only one restaurant The Wildings which served very good food but will not serve the general public drinks unless you are dining there. The property was excellent, clean and modern with beautiful views. Good parking. April 2011.

7th comment: Had a fab time, value for money was great. We loved the location of the house - so handy for Ayr and also for Girvan. We will certainly return, as we had such a brill time, the garden was great as it was enclosed and having young children made it so safe to let them play out. March 2011.

8th comment: It was comfortable for our party of seven people and the kitchen was well-equipped. July 2010.

9th comment: Great access to sea front. Large and spacious. Nice garden at the back. Lovely property. May 2010.

10th comment: The house is tastefully decorated and very modern. It is a large family house ideal for families. We found it suitable to us simply because of the golf in that area. The beaches are clean and minutes walk. There are a couple of eating places such as Wildings and Souter Johnnies, although there is no pub. A shop is minutes walk selling essentials. You can find a large Morrisons in Ayre and an Asda in Girvan. April 2010.

12th Comment High standard of interior decoration. Great bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Very clean and tidy. Almost like a hotel! Oct 2009.
