Customer Reviews of Holiday Cottage, Lochgoilhead - Sleeps 6

"Great location, very picturesque"

Lovely house for exploring this part of Scotland. The two pubs in the village served us well for evening meals & the shop on the caravan park stocked essentials. We had plenty of space for the four of us. No problem parking outside. The lounge was roomy with a good TV, essential for watching the Olympics of an evening. Well equipped kitchen. Could have done with a fan in the bathroom, a bit steamy after four people have showered. Lochgoilhead is very pretty but we were disppointed with Carrick Castle, a good five miles down the otherside of the loch. Inverary Jail was quite expensive for such a low tech venue but the town was pretty & there was the bonus of a film crew at the castle filming Downton abbey. That was supposed to be a secret but we saw Mr Bates on the pier! The argyll Hotel was an axcellent place both for lunch & dinner. Dunoon was worth the trip also. Enjoyed the visit to Menzies Castle & the countryside surrounding it. Killin was especially pretty.
