Fearn Peninsula

Fife

Inchnadamph

Small village on the road North. Starting point for an ascent of Ben More or a quick stop to see the lonely Ardvreck Castle. 

Maeshowe or Maes Howe

Maeshowe is a Neolithic chambered cairn and passage grave situated on Mainland. It was probably built in around 2800 BC. It gives its name to the Maeshowe type of chambered cairn, which is only found in Orkney.

Mauchline Castle

Mauchline Castle, was built in the 1400s as a monastic residence for Melrose Abbey. Robert Burns is believed to have married Jean Armour in the castles dining room.

Preston Tower

Large and somewhat foreboding tower near Prestonpans. In care of council and can be viewed from its gardens. Said to be haunted.

Ghillie Dhu

Ghillie Dhu is a Grade 1 listed church turned traditional Scottish pub and live entertainment venue serving local grub, ales and premium spirits as well as showcasing the best local acts. It is open from noon each day til 3am every night.

Mauchline

 The small village of Mauchline is situated 8 miles southeast of Kilmarnock on the A76. It is much associated with Robert Burns who lived and was wed here.

Montgreenan Castle

Site of old castle, possibly large one, but little remains except walling. Was belived to have been a Bishops Palace which another name for the castle
