Sitting within the southern upland hills, this detached country cottage in a secluded rural location is the ideal base to enjoy a peaceful holiday and explore the countryside, with many walks right on your doorstep, yet Edinburgh is less than an hour by car. Biggar, 7 miles, has a variety of craft and food shops along with museums. Peebles, 11 miles, with a variety of shops, restaurants and theatre. Neidpath Castle sits by the River Tweed, which flows through the town. Dawyck Botanic Gardens, 3 miles. Shop, P.O and bistro/pub 2 miles.
All on ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 4 bedrooms: 1 double, 2 twin, one accessed through further twin bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Separate toilet.
Open fire in living room (initial fuel inc). Elec heaters & elec inc (£10 per day Nov-Mar, excluding Xmas & New Year). Bed linen & towels inc. Freeview TV (from 1st July). DVD. Elec cooker. M/wave. W/machine. F/freezer. Large cottage garden with smaller enclosed sitting-out area & furniture. Parking (2 cars). Natural water supply from spring. Pets free of charge. No smoking. NB: Small stream & part sloping banks in garden.

1st comment: Property is well equipped and big enough for 6-8 adults. Some of the house is very dated, but it is clean and well maintained. The location is excellent and really easy to get to various places including Edinburgh. July 2011.
