Set in a harbourside location in a picturesque 18th-century village, this traditionally-styled, end-of-row townhouse offers stunning uninterrupted views over Garlieston Bay and easy access to the beach and coastal paths. Part of a sympathetic redevelopment of an early 19th-century mill complex (with some Grade B listed buildings), it is an ideal holiday base from which to explore the quiet Machars Peninsula with rugged coastline, sandy beaches and wealth of historic interest. Galloway Forest Park, Seven Stanes close by. Sea, river and loch fishing available; sailing, water sports, golf accessible. Wigtown (National Booktown) and Whithorn’s historic dig and priory nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Open-plan kitchen/living room with dining area, sea views. Separate toilet. First floor: Double bedroom with French doors to balcony, panoramic harbour views to hills beyond and en-suite shower room with toilet. Twin bedroom with sea views. Bathroom with shower attachment and toilet.

Customer Reviews of Waters Edge,Garlieston, Newton Stewart, sleeps 4

1st comment: We had a lovely time and it was nice and quiet. Not some where you should go if you like a lot of night life. If you are taking your dog with you think about taking there cage or a stair gate, as it is open plan there is only the bedroom door to shut and I found it difficult to keep my wee beagle down stairs. He just thought it was a game. We all had a lovely break and our dog loved the beach, there are some fab walks all around and really nice friendly neighbours. We would go back in a minute. Nov 2011.

2nd comment: This was a holiday home that was spotless and had everything that you may need. Location was beautiful, lovely walk along the pier, and beyond the wall part of the pier. Some lovely quaint places to visit all along the coastline which ever way you drove. Port Douglas, Port Patrick, Garvin, Castle Douglas, Sweethearts Abbey, are all beautiful places to visit. Our overall favourite was the Forest of Galloway drive, if you do this, take time to stop at all the points marked, as there is some spectacular views of the hills and the streams that run through this forest, they were breathtaking. Oct 2011.

3rd comment: A clean modern property with excellent properly working equipment. A very quiet location in the harbour NOT exactly overlooking the sea. The effect of the Gulf Stream meant the weather forecast suggesting rain in SW Scotland often didn’t apply. A Caravan Club site right next to the property but little noise. As with most holiday accommodation the bed mattress could be more comfortable. June 2011.

4th comment: The accommodation is first class and of a very good quality. The situation is perfect for wandering the harbour and the bird life is varied especially as the neighbour feeds the birds - smashing to watch. The only adverse comment I have is that it might be worth considering installing a dishwasher. Whilst clean, the cutlery and mugs were stained and gave the impression of being dirty. April 2011.

5th comment: It was within easy reach of some lovely coastal walks, and very well situated for exploring the area. Leaflets and conformation sheets provide were very helpful in deciding where to go each day. Very clean and well equipped, we were very comfortable there. Oct 2010.

6th comment: Modern, clean, good parking, quiet area, all mod cons, good walks very close. Oct 2010.

7th comment: Comfortable and very well equipped. Great to have two bathrooms and a downstairs loo! Sept 2010.

8th comment: Beautifully situated, warm and comfortable. Sept 2010.

9th comment: Modern town house in rural location. Almost brand new. Facilities first class and in good order. July 2010.

10th comment: Great location, friendly & helpful owners & friendly neighbours. Great for dogs with lots of good places for dog walking - no problem with us having a big dog. Oct 2009.
