Comments :Scotland's oldest distillery
Description :In a picturesque location near the town of Crieff ? and formerly called Hosh ? Glenturret Distillery dates from 1775 and is the oldest in Scotland. It was renamed Glenturret in 1875, and is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries. It was closed from 1923 to 1959, but has since been established as one of the most popular malts, strong, smooth and mellow. It uses the water of the Turret Burn with the Opot still' process, a tradition unchanged since it began in the 18th century. The shop sells a range of award-winning Glenturret whiskies. A tour of the distillery includes a free tasting and an audio-visual presentation, called OWater of Life', in the visitor centre as well as the OSpirit of the Glen' exhibition. The shop sells a rangle of Glenturret whiskies.
