Description :Set in a scenic location at Lochranza, Isle of Arran Distillery is the newest single malt whisky distillery in Scotland, having only been in production since 1995, the first legal distillery on Arran for 150 years. The distillery uses water from Eason Biorach, a mountain burn; has traditional washbacks; specially commissioned stills; and has its own warehousing on site. The whisky is still quite young but has a well-rounded malty flavour. The visitor centre features interactive displays and a short film illustrating whisky production on Arran over the last 150 years; and a tour concludes with a free dram. An audio-visual room is located in the mock 18th-century crofter's inn.
