Alford is a tiny country town and one of the chief tourist areas on Donside.
It is worth making your trip to Alford, which lies 25 miles to the west of Aberdeen to see the Grampian Transport Museum. You can get to see a display of transport through the ages here. Sited at a stone's throw away is the Alford Valley Railway. The narrow gauge rail runs for a mile before it reaches the open space of Murray Park though wooded vales . Also in town is the Alford Heritage Centre.
For those interested in skiing, there is a local dry ski slope at Alford Ski Centre. The Lecht Ski Centre is also sited close by.
