Whisky Day Tour
One day introduction to whisky. The day tour h that visits two distilleries for a tour and a tipple as well as Loch Lomond National Park. Daily all year from 09:30 from central Edinburgh. Minimum age 18.

We drive from Edinburgh passing the site of Bannockburn and a view of Stirling Castle rising above the central plain. Our first stop is Glengoyne Distillery in the heart of the Lomond park where we take a tour of the distillery to discover the secrets of whisky distilling.
Glengoyne Distillery
They have distilling whisky at Burnfoot Farm for 200 years legally and they were probably distilling long before that hidden away from the long arm of the exciseman. George Connell the founder of the distillery certainly learnt his craft before it was legal to do so. This distillery has a tremendous sense of history about it and so a tour is wonderful way to imbibe some of that history and the golden liquid that flows from it.
After the tour and dram, we continue into the park and stop for a pub lunch followed by a leg stretch and a chance to see the loch.
After that we continue on to Deanston DIstillery that sits on the River teith and makes its own electricity. There is a chance for another tour to see how they approach the secret arts and then we wend our way home to Edinburgh.
