This tour operates on: Every Day

From Inverness we will make our way through the Black Isle to Garve and onwards to the lonely village of Achnasheen where we will make our first stop of the day. Refreshed we continue our journey through picturesque Glen Carron to Kyle of Lochalsh.

Soon we cross 'over the sea to Skye' by way of the road bridge and head for Broadford, where there is a stop for lunch. Next we take the stunningly beautiful road through Glen Suardal. The pretty Red Cuillin Hills provide a pleasant start to our journey. As we reach the little village of Torrin, the bulk of Bla Bhein (Blanven) comes in to view. Considered by many to be Scotland’s prettiest mountain it provides breathtaking views.

The road descends to hug the banks of Loch Slappin and here we stop to enjoy some beach combing. The next part of our journey involves a steep climb over Strathaird to reach the little community of Elgol beyond.

We'll have an extended stop in Elgol where there are superb views of the Black Cuillin Hills to enjoy. They rise majestically on the opposite banks of Loch Scavaig. If the weather is kind to us there are also stunning seascapes towards Rum and the other Small Isles.

As we cross the Skye Bridge, heading for the mainland, look out for the little island of  Eilean Ban.  The author, Gavin Maxwell, lived in the lighthouse keepers cottage for a while. He is most famous for writing 'Ring of Bright Water' - a book that vividly described living with a family of otters.

We'll make a stop so that you can visit Eilean Donan Castle, perched on its island at the head of Loch Duich. You will marvel at the views from this most picturesque of castles.

At Glen Shiel, we will see the 'Five Sisters', a range of five mountains that dominate the surrounding landscape. Next we travel through Glen Moriston to Invermoriston, where we will have our last stop of the day. Our return to Inverness is along the banks of Loch Ness. We will have a stop for photographs by the loch side - keep a careful look out, just in case you know who makes an appearance!

  • 1 Day trip to Skye

I would gladly take this tour again!! We had a wonderful tour guide, she was full of information, pointed out spots of interest that were along the way, she laughed with us and awed over the beautiful sights....One of my favorite stories she told was of the 5 sisters of Kintail. I had never heard that one and she pointed out the 5 Sisters for us......A wonderful day of exploring, sight seeing and photo opportunities!! 5 star, highly recommended for anyone!!

  • A Great Day to Skye

We booked this one day tour in the Inverness region because we wanted to make the most of our Highland experience. It was indeed a wonderful way to spend the day, since we had Allison, our tour guide, to delight us with stories about Scottish history and life, music and jokes. Also, we appreciated her excellent driving skills, since it couldn t have been easy to drive the bus through that narrow road in the Isle. A great day in a spectacular lanscape and the most pleasant company.

  • Amazing...

Amazing bus, Amazing tour itinerary, excellent accommodation that they suggested and also the tour guide was brilliant

  • Eilean Donan & Skye Day Tour

Alison was not only a good driver, an excellent one in fact, but a great entertainer. She had many nationalities on the bus, but soon got to know everyone by a name, and it was amazing how soon everyone got to know each other and talk - when they had the chance and Alison was not doing so. A great day out and a good laugh with Alison.

  • Isle of Skye from Inverness

Took the day tour Inverness to the Isle of Skye. Allison was the tour guide/driver and went out her way to include everyone in games and was very knowledgeable on Scottish history. Stopped many times for photos. Had a nice hot lunch in a hotel on Skye. Stopped to dip out toes in a Loch and Allison had us doing a little dance in front of other tourists, which was quite funny. A great day. Highly recommend.

  • Recommended!

We took 3 days trip from Edinburg to Isle of Sky, Loch Ness and many other stunning places. Such a great way of getting to know that beautiful country! We would never be able to hear so many interesting facts and stories if not for our tour guy Gregor. He was keeping us entertained through the trip but without being too intrusive. We couldn't ask for more :) If you are first time in Scotland, definitely the best way to travel.
