Aberfeldy to Pitlochry via Loch Tummel

Great road trip that starts North of Pitlochry and takes you in a swooping drive to Aberfeldy. 3-4 hours.

Go west from Pitlochry (Baile Chloichrigh) to Loch Tummel (Loch Teimhil). Stop at Queens View for a look at the stunning view favoured by Queen Victoria - especially beautiful in the autumn with the golden leaves. At Tummel Bridge, continue west to Loch Rannoch. You can turn south now or continue on to Rannoch Station, the most remote railway station in the UK.

If you continue on then return along the unmarked road on the south side of the loch, then turn right over the hills. Take a detour right to Fortingall and down to Fearnan on the banks of Loch Tay . Turn left along the loch to Kenmore at its head, then on to Aberfeldy following the banks of the River Tay, Scotland’s most famous salmon river. After stopping in Aberfeldy you can continue on A827 to pick up the A9 again.
