Glasgow's famous East End market with over 1000 traders flogging their wares. Worth coming if only to hear their patter.
East of Glasgow Cross, Gallowgate and London Road lead into the city's East End, only a stone's throw from the Merchant City.
It may look shabby and rundown by comparison but this is where you can sample a slice of pure Glasgow, especially in The Barras ("The Barrows"), a huge market spread out around the streets and alleys south of Gallowgate.
You could spend days rummaging around through acres of cheap, new and second-hand goods.
A lot of it's junk (dodgy computer games, pirate videos etc) but there are plenty of bargains to be found and there's every chance of unearthing some valuable antique.
The real attraction, though, is the unique atmosphere of the place and wit and repartee of the market traders.
The market is held every weekend, 1000-1700, and the entrance is marked by the huge red gates on Gallowgate.
