Customer Reviews of Brackendale, Sandyhills - Sleeps 9
st comment: Barend is perfectly located on the Solway coast giving you easy access to lots of places to visit. Sandyhills beach is just 10 minutes walk away with miles of beach to walk on, especially when the tide is out. Braemar cabin was perfect for our party of 4 adults and 5 kids. Accommodation was cozy and even though there was so many of us it didn’t feel tight for space. A definite recommendation would be the "soup and pud" lunch at Colvend village hall the 3rd Thursday of each month. The swimming pool at Barend was great for the kids, especially on the wet days, and filled in a few hours before tea. Oct 2011.
nd comment: This is our second holiday at this property and hope to get back next year. The swimming pool is ideal for parents with young kids,The location is a great center for the mountain biking at the nearby 7 Stanes at Dalbeattie with Kiroughtree and Mabie a short drive away. Great walks if you prefer a slower pace and great beaches nearby if you just want to relax. Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas,Kirkubright and Dunfries all just a short drive away. The accommodation all be it basic home comforts is ideal and is spacious and ideal for several adults and kids.Highly recommended wether it be this property or one of the others which are available at the same resort. July 2011.
rd comment: Great location, bedrooms great although kitchen a little small. Feb 2011.
th comment: Lovely and cosy, ideal spot for a relaxing holiday. Oct 2010.
th comment: Whilst some of the property appeared dated it was clean and functional, well presented and had ample space for our party of seven. The facilities at the lodge were OK for our young children and it is well situated for activities for perhaps older kids. We liked it so much that we have already booked up again for 2011. Sept 2010.
