The breathtaking drive across the Pass of the Cattle leads to the village of Applecross, recently featured in Monty Halls Great Escape on BBC television. Experience wildlife safaris such as marine life, sea/loch fishing, water sports and magnificent mountains for hill walking, climbing and biking. A network of National Trust paths, signposted from the grounds of Sgurr Mor, affords views of the surrounding area. Shop and pub 500 yards and excellent restaurants in and around Plockton.

6th comment: This property is very comfortable and well presented. A bottle of wine, and a ’welcome’ note from the owner with suggestions of places to visit, were a good start to our holiday. The views from the living rooms and bedrooms are lovely, and Balmacara is an ideal centre for visiting Skye and Wester Ross. A week staying at Sleepy Hollow was not long enough as there are plenty of things to do for anyone who loves the quiet countryside, either touring by car or exploring on foot. Aug 2011.
