Sligachan Walk

Wonderful walk along Sligachan Glen with mountains on each side that provides unforgettable view of the dramatic mountains. Great bar to reward you at the end.

Sligachan is at one end a sea loch, in the middle a lonely hotel beside the much photographed Sligachan bridge, and finally the unforgettable glen with views of Cuillins. The track up the Glen takes a spectacular route between the peaks of Marsco on your left and Sgurr nan Gillean on your right.

The best low-level walk is to follow the glen south to Loch na Creitheach, situated under the south ridge of the Cuillin’s aloof outlier Mountain, Blà Bheinn. Then just walk back the way you came. If luck is with you, a sprinkling of snow will embellish the peaks and stags will roar in the dusk. The route is well walked and managed so you just good boots and weather clothing to enjoy. Take a map as always.

Seumas’ Bar in the Sligachan Hotel (bar, food and accommodation available) hand also Scotland’s Whisky Bar of the Year for three consecutive years with a collection of around 400 single malts + craft beers from the in house Cuillin Brewery.Enjoy the local venison pie to put some welly back into the legs at the end of the day

There is also the Sligachan Bunkhouse nearby for the budget requirements.

If you really walk a big walk - dont stop and make your way all the way to Elgol!
