Day One - Welcome to Glasgow!

Welcome to Glasgow. There are complimentary transfers from Glasgow International Airport departing at 08:00 hrs, 10:00 hrs or 12:00 noon. There's time to relax before joining your fellow passengers for a tour of Glasgow departing at 14:30 hrs.

Drive around George Square with its ornate City Chambers and nearby Glasgow Cathedral. Visit Provand's Lordship, Glasgow's oldest house built in 1471, and step back in time to discover Glasgow's unique history. The house was originally part of a hospital and has been extensively restored and furnished. Join your tour director and travel companions for a welcome drink before dinner..

Day Two - Glasgow to the Highlands

Depart Glasgow and travel alongside the famous Loch Lomond, renowned for its unsurpassed beauty. Travel through the deep valley of Glen Coe, notorious for the Campbell massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692. Continue through Fort William and stop at the Spean Bridge Woollen Mill, which offers quality Scottish goods. At Fort Augustus embark on a short cruise on Loch Ness to admire enchanting views and keep an eye out for "Nessie.” Continue to Nairn and enjoy a Scottish Highland evening with haggis and other traditional foods as well as bagpipe music and dance.

Day Three - Inverness to Edinburgh (2 nights)

Visit the Culloden Visitor Centre to learn about the Battle of Culloden where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated by the British army in 1746, changing the traditional way of Highland clan life forever. Drive through the Grampian Mountains to visit Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry to see how whisky is distilled and sample some. Continue south to Edinburgh and check in to your hotel, a few miles from the city and set in lovely grounds. Head into Edinburgh to a popular restaurant for dinner which is followed by a fun walking tour with a local guide to discover the haunts of Edinburgh's eccentric characters in the narrow streets and alleys of the medieval city.

Day Four - Edinburgh Castle & City Tour

This morning see the principal sights of Edinburgh as you drive along Princes Street and through the wide streets of the 200-year-old Georgian New Town. Walk along parts of the Royal Mile where some houses reach 11 floors tall. Visit Edinburgh Castle, which dominates the city and contains the Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Scone. The balance of the day is free. On July 29 to August 19 departures, seats are reserved for the famous Royal  Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.

Day Five - Homeward bound

After breakfast spend independent time in Edinburgh or transfer to Edinburgh Airport in good time to check in for your flight.
