This delightful 130 year old detached stone-built cottage retains much original period character. The traditional exterior is complemented by a comfortable, bright interior, well-equipped and tastefully furnished. The light and sunny rooms are freshly decorated and features include a traditional open log/coal fire in the living room. This warm and welcoming retreat is ideal for a break at any time of the year. There is a pretty garden with chiminea, barbecue and garden furniture. Situated in a peaceful residential location just a few minutes’ walk from the River Tweed, the cottage is ideally positioned to take advantage of the diverse range of walks direct from the door – from gentle meanders along the river, woodland paths or quiet country lanes to longer walks in the surrounding hills and forests. On or off road cycling is popular and there is a world class mountain bike centre only a few miles away at Glentress.

Peebles High Street is a scenic 10 minute stroll away along the River Tweed. A Royal Burgh since 1152, Peebles has been ranked as Top Independent Retailing Town in Scotland and second in the UK for its range of independent shops. It is a popular thriving town with cafes, pubs and restaurants, theatre, swimming pool, art galleries, museums and a lively events calendar including the Beltane Festival, Arts and Music Festivals, Rugby 7’s tournaments and agricultural shows. The Tweed valley is a particularly beautiful part of the Borders and there are excellent opportunities for fishing and golf as well as walking, cycling and bike hire. With good road and bus links, this is an excellent base for touring and Edinburgh is approximately 45 minutes drive.

1 double room with very comfortable kingsize bed, cosy lounge with open fire, dining room, kitchen with cast iron Aga-Rayburn range cooker, upstairs bathroom with bath and separate shower, small downstairs shower room. Cooking and central heating by gas plus open fire. Fridge, washing machine, microwave, Freeview television, DVD, CD/radio, telephone for incoming calls only. Bed linen and towels and a welcome pack are provided.

This house is great for couples! it's a quiet road, peebles is a lovely village, great for romantic walks. we enjoyed it so much we'd definitely book it again! everything really clean and the owner was very friendly! we just found that the fridge was a bit too small as we stayed there for two weeks and had done some shopping.
