Arnisdale

Arnisdale is a small village overlooking Loch Hourn and across to Skye. It is reached by a long pretty drive along the old military road from Invershiel, via Glenelg following the loch side.

Travel Directions to Arnisdale

There used to be a ferry service across Loch Hourn to Knoydart, but at the moment we believe it has been suspended (http://www.arnisdaleferry.com/). The main road in is the old road around the coast of the Loch via Glenelg. Between Glen Shiel and Glenelg you get to enjoy the high pass called Mam Ratagan which is one of the highest in the UK. At around 1100 feet and with several hairpin bends on a single track road, the journey takes on the feel of an adventure, culminating in a sense of achievement when you finally descent into the 'hidden' glen at the end of which lies the village of Glenelg. A fantastic drive
