Elephant House
The Elephant House is one of the best tea and coffee houses in Edinburgh. Its clientèle includes many famous personalities like J.K. Rowling, who chose the back room with the best views of the Edinburgh castle to write many of her early novels.
Very studenty – a great place to linger over coffee and bagels or one of many cheap snacks and main courses. Mellow vibe and lots of elephants (on the walls, not at the tables). Café bar by evening with live music.
Good menu covering light snacks and much more. Enjoy views of the Edinburgh castle and the graveyard.
