These four fabulous houses have been sympathetically converted from old farm buildings and stables to provide excellent accommodation for a family holiday in peaceful surroundings. Each house has its own private garden and has been cleverly designed to ensure privacy. The very spacious accommodation is warm and very comfortable (with air source heating and woodburners) and the ample living areas provide plenty of space to relax or enjoy family gatherings.

The Stables is a lovely spacious property with high ceilings and a woodburner, while The Barn and The Byre are great family houses with lovely views and plenty of room. The Coach House features a super master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and rolltop bath.

The properties are next to Tolquhon Gallery and Tolquhon Castle - known as one of the most pictureque castles in Grampian. This is ’castle country’ and there are many to explore in the area. There are many golf courses at hand, while Pitmedden Gardens and Haddo House are close by. Within easy reach of Balmedie Beach, Cruden Bay and Forvie Sands. Aberdeen is just half an hour’s drive.

Shops, pubs and restaurants 3 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with double sofa bed, French doors, beams and laminate floor. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet.

6th comment: "The Stables" at Mains of Tolquhon is an absolute joy to visit ... brand new, comfortable, luxuriously fitted & furnished & beautifully presented & maintained. It sits less than a mile up a country lane off a main road in the heart of this wonderful Aberdeen/Morayshire countryside, with lots to do & see on the doorstep & a superb outlook with peace, perfect peace when you get home! The owners Shona & Rory have literally thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome, comfortable & at ease, with some lovely extra touches like the tea/coffee-&-yummy-cake-tray awaiting your arrival! From start to finish it felt as though nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure I had a carefree, enjoyable & relaxing holiday & I would have no hesitation in commending them and their beautiful property to anyone looking for the same thing. I’ll certainly be back in the near future. June 2011.
