Glen Garioch Distillery
Glen Garioch is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Founded in 1797, it is Scotland’s most easterly distillery. Situated just 20 minutes from Aberdeen in the town of Oldmeldrum, it’s known as Aberdeenshire’s malt.
It could be said the area was made for whisky production. The beautiful and richly fertile land has been famed for centuries as the ‘Granary of Aberdeenshire’. With rolling hills and crystal clear springs, it’s easy to see why one of the country’s first distilleries was sited in the town.
For more than 200 years Glen Garioch has been handcrafting a beautiful range of natural, non chill-filtered whiskies. The distillery remains at the heart of the community and stays true to the original charm of the Highlands, with local staff, brimming with passion for the fine whisky they make and offering a welcome to all.
The Visitor Centre is open 10.00 - 16.30, Monday to Saturday, with daily tours taking place at 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00, Monday to Saturday.
