Customer Reviews of The Cottage, Barrock House, nr Wick - Sleeps 2

1st comment: The property was great, but a little word or warning, the accommodation was all up stairs, so disabled people would find it hard, and although you can take two dogs which is great, its not brill for larger breeds. We have an irish wolfhound and by the end of the week he was a little stressed. Overall we loved the place deep in the woods and very quiet (even seen a barn owl) love the place. Good size bathroom all rooms are infact of good proportions. Nov 2011. 2nd comment: The accommodation was cosy and the heating is on all the time. July 2011. 3rd comment: Lovely, quiet, welcoming, warm and everything you need. Aug 2009.

    • Keiss Castle

Ruinous C16th castle near to Wick in Caithness. Its most striking characteristic is its position teetering on the efge of the cliff! Walk able or view from the beach. A  photographer's delight.

    • Thurso Castle

The actual gothic castle was demolished in 1952 - what can be seen from the rivers edge is a wall and north tower that looks mediaeval, bit is not

    • Hill o' Many Stanes

Why are 200 stones aligned in a pattern in this field (and there were probably 600 to start with). What was there purpose? This is the most striking and most mysterious of the stone lines in Caithness. Just off A99 South of Wick and easy to visit. (signposted)
