Customer Reviews of Lighthouse View, West Highlands, sleeps 4

st comment: This cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It would be advisable to take as much food and drink as you can the local shop is about 15mins walk about a mile and is fairly well stocked but can be expensive and if you don’t plan on doing much driving while you’re there this is the only shop for miles. The ferry terminal is a good 2mile walk a nice stroll when the weather’s ok but not very nice if it’s wet and windy. Fantastic place to get away from hustle and bustle the 1 track road for about 40miles is the only road into and away from kilchoan and is very scenic but try not to make it in the dark as it can be a bit daunting with lots of hidden peaks and bends.Fantastic place for scenery and walking and the ferry to Tobermory is worth a go. The seafront is about 200yards from the front door and is all pebble but has a little bbq and picnic bench on it for this cottage a great place to sit and watch the ferry’s pass by. Nov 2011.

nd comment: This property is ideal if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing break. Wonderful views across to the Isle of Mull. Would suggest taking everything with you that you will need for the duration of the holiday, there is a small shop in the village but not much choice. Sept 2011.

rd comment: A well stocked and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with an absolutely stunning view over to Mull. Very remote, quiet, scenic...absolutely perfect for a relaxing holiday to get away from it all. July 2011.

th comment: This is a very comfortable cottage ideally situated for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The views from the cottage are superb across the Sound of Mull where you can watch the ferries, watch the weather and spot the occasional otter. Stocking the bird table with seed from the local shop brings a whole host of beautiful finches, yellow hammers and other wildlife. Everything you need is provided in the cottage and, due to its size, it is perfect for a couple. May 2011.

th comment: The description and pictures of this property were per my expectations and as published. I liked the landscape of this peninsular few years ago when I was cruising through and after this trip I fell in love. It’s wonderful just to watch the ships & cruises pass by from this cottage from the comfort of the cottage in front of a warm fire. Sept 2010.

th comment: The house was accessed and moved around easily on the flat, the staircase was not difficult to use. Lovely kitchen with lots of utensils and plenty room to cook and eat in the kitchen and great views.Living room with comfortable seating and great views. Bedrooms and beds comfy and great views. Bathrooms roomy with easily accessed shower. Aug 2010.

th comment: Beautifully situated, the cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. The fire could be temperamental & smoky but was very good once it got going. May 2010.

th comment: Fire was made up. Jan 2010.

th Comment Clean, extremely well equipped and cosy with outstanding views from all rooms. Aug 009.

th Comment Stunningly relaxing. The views from the front of the property were beautiful and could appreciated at any time of the day from the comfort of the rooms in the cottage. Aug 2009.

th Comment The cottage was excellent, clean and warm, with high quality furnishings and kitchen equipment. The location and view was superb. The best cottage we have rented through yourselves. May 2009.

th Comment The cottage is ideal for an informal holiday, comfortable, no unnecessary frills but good attention to practical detail. A request in last year’s visitors’ book (September) for an additional shelf in the bathroom and the pruning of an intrusive shrub were both carried through. May 2009.

th Comment The welcome booking system was good and the lady on the telephone was really helpful and friendly. The cottage was beautiful - exceeded expectations - with beautiful views to Mull and two lighthouses. The cottage was very well fitted out, very comfy and relaxing with useful information supplied on the local surroundings. Peaceful with wonderful countryside, pristine beaches and lots of wildlife spotting. Beware of ’the long and winding roller coaster road’ to get to the village of Kilchoan which at the end of a long drive can be a little stressful - but once driven its worth all the effort. Make sure you have a tank of petrol ! Fantastic. April 2009.

th Comment Great location, good standard of everything, nice linen. Aug 2009.

th Comment A lovely cosy cottage in a peaceful setting with beautiful scenery. An ideal place to get away and unwind. Sanna Bay is well worth a visit. Tobermory is just a short ferry crossing from Kilchoan. There are some good walks to explore. Lots of red deer to be seen around the hillsides and we got our first sighting of a golden eagle. Well worth a visit. March 2009.

th Comment Located down quiet no through road. Very short walk to foreshore. Excellent views from all front windows across to Mull. Twenty minute walk to ferry for Tobermory, leave the car behind! Interior very homely and welcoming. Good provision of leaflets and information on surrounding area. Ten minute walk to local store which is friendly and extremely well stocked. July 2009.
